With a new year upon us I am laying out new goals to aim for by the end of 2017. Yet, in the first few days of the new year my plans have already taken extremely unexpected turns. All good turns, mind you, which involve more writing. But unexpected just the same.

I had an epiphany the other night about my writing efforts as of late. I’ve been pouring my time into my favorite short stories, editing them ruthlessly, while outlining others here and there and taking my time bringing them to life. This entire year I’ve almost exclusively focused on cranking out short stories, with only a few weeks of work put towards my novel. I’ve wanted to build up my portfolio and have more short stories to show agents and publishers, since when this year began I’d sold all of my work and had nothing to show potential editors. Continue reading “It. Is. Over.”
For the past several days my laptop has simply refused to work properly. But after a few poignant threats and death glares, it straightened up and is finally working again. Huzzah! Because I have a few exciting pieces of news to share with you…

I don’t even know where to start with this one. I guess I’ll just jump in and blow through it all.

I am honored and disgraced. I am excited and ashamed. Conflicting emotions served to make this week one of indecision and lost time.
I am honored. Don’t know if you noticed, but my website was hijacked earlier this week by the enigmatic Rebecca Shwarz to help promote the Ecotones anthology. Rebecca and I took part in the author’s blog tour to get some more publicity and traction for the anthology. There is a kickstarter for the book going now that will end November 30th and it’s not quite all the way there. So we’re really trying to get the word out there… so we can get payed more!

Remember how I said I was taking part in a blog tour? Well today, I am happy to introduce Rebecca Schwarz, a contributing author in Ecotones. She’s here to tell us why she wrote her dog-inspired tale, The Silva, and why she submitted it to SFFWorld.com’s fourth anthology.

October is just about outta here.
Which means November is nearly upon us, friends. Do you know what that means? Check your calendar. Go ahead, check it. It’s okay, I’ll wait.
Does your calendar happen to mention that November is National Novel Writing Month? If not, mark it! This is important!

You see that picture right there? That is a picture of a learned and experienced doctor enjoying vacation in the Dominican Republic WHILE READING MY BOOK.
Take it all in people, because that picture right there made my heart sprout wings and fly away with joy. It was incredibly nice of Hector, my uncle of unequalled awesomeness, to send it to me. I can’t tell you how cool it is to have people not only read my story, but tell me how much they enjoyed it and that they can’t wait for more. So much excitement! Seeing this was definitely a boost to my week. Which was nice, because it was one heck of a busy week.

You know what sucks? Having a lifelong chronic pain illness. You know what doesn’t suck? All these amazing updates that I’m about to throw in your face! Hiya!
So, I’ve been a little under the weather lately(boy, is that an understatement), and haven’t been able to keep my site up to date with all the things that have been happening with my writing career. But that stops now! First and foremost, around this time next week you should be able to find me on gameskinny.com as a content contributor, writing articles and funny youtube videos about all the games I’m in love with currently. I was lucky enough to be accepted as an intern for gameskinny and take part in a JTP. The hope after the internship is that the staff at gameskinny will realize how rare and valuable a person like me is and offer me a paying gig. Fingers crossed, people. And if not, at least I got to intern at a gaming/entertainment website for a bit, and perhaps that will open up another door in the future.
